CTD largest die plate grinding

20 November 2016 - Luc Van Loon - Geen categorie

Recently CTD has ground one of the largest die plates used in the world by a major polymer producer. This UG1250 die plate had an OD of almost 1500 mm and had more than 10400 extrusion holes. The back of the die plate and the cutting face were both ground in order to obtain perfect parallellism which we measured to be lower than 0.02 mm. The cutting face was made of Ferro-TitaniumCarbide type Nikro 143.
