Together with reconditioning of pelletizing die plates, CTD also manufactures pelletizing knives. We can manufacture knives according to drawing or as per model. In consultation with our customers we can develop special knives for each specific application.

CTD makes bi-metallic knives with a special high strength stainless steel body. This stainless steel has a much higher yield strength (flexibility) than standard Cr stainless steels which reduces the risk of breakage during operation. The cutting insert is manufactured from Ferro-Titanium Carbide Nikro128 or Nikro143 material which is brazed on the stainless steel body. After brazing, the knives are completely ground including the Ferro-Titanium Carbide insert. The brazed joints are 100% US tested.
The Ferro-Titanium Carbide insert has a special design with reduced contact surface. This guarantees lower frictional forces during start-up and thus lower wear on the knives and on the cutting face of the die plate especially when the cutting face is grooved.
