Steel is the ideal solution for packaging of paints, coatings and chemicals both in cans as in larger size drums. Steel used for this type of packaging has a much thicker wall section and are more difficult to cut and form. Tungsten carbide is therefore the preferred material for tools used in slitting, cutting and forming of the steel sheet. CTD has a lot of experience in designing hybrid tooling with carbide cutting or forming inserts in a steel body that ensures the resistance against the high mechanical loads.
